Welcome to the official website of the Old Pueblo Firefighters Association. The OPFFA is the recognized bargaining unit representing the interests of the firefighters proudly serving the unincorporated rural and urban areas surrounding Tucson, Arizona in Pima County. We are highly trained, skilled and committed public servants employed, under contract, by the nation’s largest private sector provider of fire protection and emergency medical services, Rural/Metro Fire Department.

In addition, we required a vehicle to help navigate the complicated and, at times, cumbersome environment surrounding local fire department politics.

The OPFFA was the first labor organization of its kind, formed by the firefighters for the firefighters with a unique public/private partnership with the Rural/Metro Fire Department. We shall continue our endeavors to aggressively protect the labor interests of our members, preserve and promote a professional and safe working environment and encourage productive relationships with other emergency providers while fulfilling our commitment to public safety.
